It seems quite fine but - unfortunately - the italian words it generated were pronounced badly which is a bit alarming. I totally missed the word casa, pronounced rather like h-a-sa and of course, k-e-in for cane???? That was a crime because it read the italian word as if it were an english one!!!! I got instantly discouraged. Close to the end it also said in spanish Como te l-a-mas, like whaaaat? Como te y-a-mas and hispanophones faced a heart-attack.

You tell me a sentence in Portuguese so I can translate it into English, then you tell me if it's right or not, and if it's wrong, you tell me the correct version. It could be ten sentences. ( I am a native Brazilian so I speak Portuguese as my mother language) Prompt #2 : Ok, now I want you to make the sentence only in the present perfect. ( and then you give more prompts specifying what grammar subject you want to practice)

Correct pronunciation is so important. Not sure I could have confidence to use it as a language learning tool.

The main concern re the correction example is that you obviously have a very basic English speaker but the corrections are in fluent English. I assume you'll have a native language and could ask for corrections, etc to be spoken in that language, with correction examples being spoken in the target language. It seems to me that, at least at the beginning, an actual language learning app would be most helpful since the app is (hopefully) teaching via time-proven methods for early learners. Not just responding to your prompts. I don't study languages for a living so I have no idea what methods exist and which would be most helpful for me. But once I was maybe like a 5 or 6 yo speaking the language, having an AI app to help me tweak my in-person speaking and listening, at typical speed, would be very helpful. I think being able to converse in a target language covering topics which are of interest to you would be very helpful to lock in your comprehension. Plus you are building "muscle" memory of speaking about those things (not canned conversations) so it's more natural when you do it for real.

I’m perfect in Italian and I can tell you that none of the vocabulary words is pronounced correctly. It’s just terrible. Spanish sounds good. I just started using “teacher AI” (yes it’s not free …) and I’m very satisfied. Dutch French English German Italian and Spanish sound like spoken by native speakers.

The Italian pronunciation was terrible! Even the Korean sounded americanized.

Fun fact: correction is not an issue if you have access to native speakers in French XDD It is in German. But not in French. They just go about speaking to foreigners very differently ^^

The pronunciation of the first 2 Italian words by chat gpt were completely wrong 😂. Makes me wonder if the pronunciation of other languages was messed up too.

This is a great multi-dimensional tool. I now use ChatGPT in different languages all the time. But it doesn't create short cuts in language learning because there are none. You still need to put in a lot of time over years for each new language. If anybody tells you differently they are just "talking their book", i.e., trying to get you to buy something!
